When I think of Panjeeri, I think of my nanijan. I have so many memories of all the love and thought she poured into making this delicacy for special occasions. And she did everything from scratch! During Winters, we looked forward to getting our never-ending supply of Panjeeri. She was the main supplier for our family for when someone had a baby, when someone had surgery and needed to gain strength, and whenever any of us cousins had exams - we’d always have nanijan visit with her Panjeeri martabaan for us.

Fast forwarding to 20 years later when I delivered my baby. My mom sent me packed food boxes and I cried as the fragrance of love and warmth filled up my senses! Panjeeri has been my comfort food since forever :)

Now, as the years pass, with my nanijan & mom having left for their eternal abode, I have been making Panjeeri - for family, friends, upon request and for my favorite lil’ human!
